  • STAR (A System of Technology to Achieve Results) Program
A System of Technology to Achieve Results (STAR) program is Minnesota’s federally funded Assistive Technology (AT) Act program. Our mission is to help Minnesotans of all ages with disabilities gain access to and acquire the assistive technology they need to perform tasks at home, school, work, and in their community.  STAR helps Minnesotans learn about assistive technology through device demonstrations where individuals and small groups can compare features and benefits of a device or category of devices.  Device loan programs allow Minnesotans an opportunity to try a device in real-life situations for a limited time to determine if the device will meet their individual needs. Device reuse helps consumers locate and purchase previously owned assistive technology.  The STAR Technology Exchange, www.mnstarte.org is an online service which gives Minnesotans free avenues for donating, buying and selling reusable AT.  STAR also works on transition activities for students transitioning to higher education and/or employment and for adults transitioning from nursing facilities to private homes and group homes.  STAR also provides technical assistance and training and collaborates and coordinates with other organizations promoting the use of AT.  Address: 358 Centennial Office Building; 658 Cedar Street; St. Paul, MN 55155 Website: www.starprogram.state.mn.us Email: star.program@state.mn.us Phone: (651) 201-2640 Toll-free: (888) 234-1267
