New Laws Help
Group Home Voters
A new law facilitates voting
for people living in residential facilities, including group homes,
by adding an option for Election Day voter registration. Now employees
of residential facilities are allowed to vouch that residents live
in the precinct. However, in order for this option to be available,
managers of residential facilities must submit an official list of
employees to their county elections office by Tuesday, October 17th.
Another new law allows residents of group homes and battered women’s shelters
to have someone deliver an absentee ballot to them. For more information, call
your county elections office or go to www.markritchie06.net ![]()
