3-Year Accreditation Award
to Opportunity Partners
by Julie Peters
CARF has announced that
Opportunity Partners, a Minnetonka-based nonprofit organization
serving people with disabilities, has been accredited for a period
of three years—the highest level that
can be awarded—for its employment and community services programs.
This accreditation shows
the organization’s substantial conformance
to the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a
three-year accreditation outcome has completed a rigorous peer review
process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site
visit that its programs are of the highest quality, measurable and
accountable.
Opportunity Partners empowers people with disabilities to strive
for maximum self-sufficiency in the community. Its customized employment,
education and residential services have helped 1,300 people with
disabilities throughout the Twin Cities achieve their dreams for
greater independence.
The CARF report listed
strengths in a number of areas, such as job development and community
integration. According to the report, “The
job development activities of Opportunity Partners are outstanding.
The number and diversity of placements are impressive.”
Opportunity Partners
was also praised for its dedication to its clients. “Staff members are respectful of individuals served
and attentive to their needs. The organization’s personnel
make a concerted effort to ensure that persons served are active
partners in all aspects of their services.”
CARF is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose mission
is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services
through an accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives
of the persons served. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation
of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF establishes consumer-focused standards
to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs.
