If you ask Gracie what
she wants to be when she grows up, she would probably say she would
like to be a princess. After all, what four year old girl wouldn’t? Well, on Thursday, February
10, 2005 she had the chance to meet her heroin, Cinderella. Not only
did she get the chance to meet Cinderella, she, and about twenty other
children at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare Clinic at
Region’s Hospital in St. Paul got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy,
Donald and Pluto, as well.
Thanks to the Disney Corporation for holding their annual meeting
in Minneapolis, the Twin Cities were able to host these wonderful characters
for a few days of fun.
“DisneyHand, worldwide

The children who attended the event received a unique stuffed Mickey
Mouse, from the DisneyHand Outreach, a photo with a character, and
the chance meet with the characters for more than just the usual ten
seconds you get at a Disney World. The look of joy and happiness on
the faces of the children, as well as on the faces of many of their
family members was priceless. The characters were bouncing around the
fourth floor waiting room for almost two hours, and the lucky attendees
also received cake and juice. It was a reminder that The Walt Disney
Company is more than just a couple of theme parks and cartoons.
A big thank you to the
Gillette Children’s Specialty
Clinic for hosting this wonderful, magical event, I am quite sure
the memories that were made that day will not be forgotten any time
soon.
