Clarification

Disability Day at the Capitol

Last month's article summarizing Disability Day at the Capitol was a consolidation of press releases provided by Sharon Rolenc, Public Awareness Director for the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota, and Steve Larson, Executive Director for the Arc of Minnesota. The consolidation was performed by Lance H. Hegland based upon information contained within those press releases. Thank you, both!

Accessible Housing

In last month's Access Press, the statement was made that there is an "inadequate supply of accessible housing for people with disabilities in Minnesota." While there may be new construction that does not meet principles of universal design and older units may be inaccessible, there is some lack of information about demand. One of the goals of HousingLink's accessibility initiative is to determine what the supply and demand is like in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
