Accessible Performances

The following performances will be Audio Described (AD) for people who are blind or have low vision, or interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) for people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

  • Korczak=s Children; runs 3/18-4/19; AD/ASL Fri., 4/18, 7:30; Children=s Theatre Co.; Mpls.; 612-874-0400; www.childrenstheatre.org.  Outside the walls of Korczak=s orphanage, the Nazis were menacing the Warsaw Ghetto.  Inside, he made theatre and healed.
  • The Summer People; runs 4/11-4/19; ASL Sat., 4/19, 8:00; U of M Theatre; Mpls.  Reserve tickets at 612-624-2345 (via MRS) at least 3 weeks before show to assure interpreting service; http://cla.umn.edu/theater.  A group of Russia=s elite idles away the summer.  Turbulent times are dawning on their country, but they are powerless to do anything but squabble about their changing society.
  • Seven Guitars; runs 4/10-5/4; ASL Fri., 4/25, 8:00; Penumbra Theatre; St. Paul; 651-224-3180; www.penumbratheatre.com.  Seven people come together in 1948 outside a Pittsburgh rooming house to celebrate the life and mourn the death of Floyd ASchoolboy@ Barton, a blues guitarist on the cusp of stardom.
  • Psycho Beach Party; runs 4/17-4/26; AD Sat., 4/26, 8:00; Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre; 701-235-6778; www.fmct.org.  Imagine AGidget@ crossed with AThe Three Faces of Eve@ and AMommie Dearest,@ then put on your Hawaiian shirt and head for the beach!  Dinner theatre available.
